What to expect during your new patient exam

Getting to know you and where you’re coming from is the most important step in beginning care. When you come in, we’ll set aside 45 minutes for your initial appointment so we can truly get to know you.
Here is what to expect during the new patient process:

Step 1: detailed history and health story

Together, we walk through the timeline of your life and investigate the moments that may have contributed stress, spurred adaptation, and helped make you who you are today. This includes traumas, both big and small, a physical, emotional, and even dietary nature. We want to gather all relevant information and help you see the big picture of health.

Step 2: Posture screen and movement assessment

Using digital screening software, we take pictures from the front and side to analyze any areas of increased stress on your posture. We also record your gait stride and overhead squat to identify asymmetries, limitations in motion, and dysfunctional movement patterns you may not be aware of.

Step 3: Chiropractic specific examination

This includes global, regional, and segmental range of motion testing, manual muscle testing, orthopedic and neurological testing, and an in depth palpatory analysis. These tests are performed so that your chiropractor can determine the root cause of what you're experiencing.

Step 4: Schedule Next visit

Our front desk staff will assist you in scheduling your second visit in the office. We call visit #2 the Report of Findings. Here you and your chiropractor will review the results of your Comprehensive Functional Exam and discuss what are the best steps moving forward to help meet your health goals. Based on the results of the exam, your doctor will recommend a unique care plan that is specific to you! You will be able to discuss which financial option best meets your needs.
